FAQ

IS THERE A WEDDING GIFT LIST?

Please click here for information.

CAN WE BRING OUR CHILDREN to the grange?

Sadly we have to answer NO to this.  Unfortunately for a number of reasons, not least, space, we have been unable to invite any children to our Wedding Day, and childcare will not be available at any time during the day, either at the church or at The Grange Country House. We have intentionally sent out our invitations quite early to allow for plenty of time for childcare to be arranged.

WHY IS IT THAT I AM A PURPLE DAY GUEST, YET MY BOYFRIEND / GIRLFRIEND IS A PEWTER DAY GUEST?

Again, this could be for a number of reasons. At The Grange, there is a maximum number of guests that can be accommodated at the Wedding Breakfast. It is not our intention to upset anyone, and we do ask for your understanding in this. However, if you feel that you would prefer not to attend the Wedding Breakfast without your parter, we will not be offended at all.  Just let us know that instead you will both be joining us in the evening.

suggested question given to us already! what if i am a pewter day guest and i feel i should be a purple day guest?!!!

Anyone who has planned a wedding knows the stress and the thought that goes into the day in trying to accommodate all the guests.  We have done the best we can, based on our budget and other logistical reasons!  We do ask for all our guests understanding and look forward to seeing everyone, regardless of which day they are invited to!  :)

IS CONFETTI ALLOWED?

At St Marys Bryanston Square church, the ONLY confetti allowed is the bio-degradeable variety.  No regular paper confetti is allowed.

At the Grange, any kind of confetti can be used but its use is RESTRICTED to the lawned areas. Confetti cannot thrown in the car park, on the paths or driveways, or inside any part ofthe house.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS DURING THE CEREMONY?

Of course you can! We want our guests to have fond memories of the day too!  However because of the potential for distraction, apart from the work of the official photographer, it is requested that there be no flash photography until the Signing of the Register.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE

Well this is a wedding, so no jeans or casual clothes!  Put on your Sunday Best!  Lounge suits with ties, kilts with ties and other formal wear are all suitable attire for the men. Ladies may wear a hat or no hat. Dresses may be long, medium or short. It's all totally up to you. Just don't come looking prettier or more handsome than us!

WHEN DO I NEED TO REPLY BY?

Please reply to your invitation as soon as you possibly can. This will help us immensely with the planning.

i'll be travelling from a distance.  Where can I stay overnight?

Please click here for accommodation information.

I DON'T THINK I CAN GET MYSELF FROM THE CHURCH TO THE GRANGE.

We are looking into this at the moment and will update this answer in due course. In the meantime, if you are a PURPLE DAY guest, please take a look at this link, and let us know if you need help.

THERE ARE SOME THINGS I CAN'T EAT

As long as we are kept informed of the dietary requirements of our guests, we shall, within reason, try to accommodate people's needs.  Please click here for information on dietary requirements.  Nearer the time, we shall post the Menu for the Wedding Breakfast on this site.

WILL I NEED TO BRING ANY MONEY?

You will not need any money for food at any time during the day.  There will be wine and mineral waters served with the Wedding Breakfast and for the Wedding Speech Toasts, but guests may buy additional alcoholic drinks and soft drinks from the Cash Bar that will be open throughout the day.  At the Evening Celebration, all drinks will be made available to guests from the Cash Bar.

I'M NOT COMING UNTIL THE EVENING. SHOULD I EAT FIRST?

There will be a buffet served midway through the evening, but you may want to eat something light before you arrive.

WHAT TIME WILL THE EVENING CELEBRATION END?

All guests need to have left The Grange by 12 o'clock midnight. This is because the house is in a residential area and so consideration must be given to their neighbours.

WHAT TIME IS THE LAST TUBE TRAIN FROM NORTHWOOD TO CENTRAL LONDON?

Click here or here for information on last train times from Northwood to London.  However, please check back on our wedding site closer to the wedding date as timetables do change. We shall attach a copy of the timetable on this website nearer the time.  Currently the last train from Northwood to Baker Street leaves Northwood at 2353 hours. If you are using the Metropolitan Line Timetable to plan your journey home, ensure that you are looking at trains from Aylesbury to Baker Street on a FRIDAY night.

HOW CAN I GET TO MY ACCOMMODATION in central london late at night?

If your accommodation for the night of 27 May 2011 is reasonably central, once you are back in Central London, there will probably be a Night Bus service that goes somewhere close to where you are staying.  Indeed you may want to plan your accommodation to take advantage of these bus services.  Click here for more information adn to download a Night Bus route map.
